The Bengaluru-based startup, Airmeet Inc. has garnered INR 22.20 crore in a funding round. The startup essentially concentrates on hosting online events; its funding round was led by Accel India. Other investment companies that have participated in the funding round, include VentureHighway, AngelList, LetsVenture, the Germany-based Global Founders Capital and Sequoia Scout, VC Circle reported citing the companys official statement. Angel investors, Co-founder of Redbus, Phanindra Sharma, Co-founder of Livspace, Ramakant Sharma, Unacademys founder, Gaurav Munjal, CEO of CommonFloor, Sumit Jain, Founder of Kawa Space, Krish Nair and founder ofTelenor, Sajid Rahman also invested in the funding round. It will use the funds to enhance its technological infrastructure to expand the kinds of events its platform can host, the company said in its official statement. Lalit Mangal, Manoj Kumar Singh and Vinay Kumar Jaasti initiated Airmeet in 2019. The company allows users to use its platform to broadcast online events and permit participants as well as attendees to carry discussion and create nexus. The company is in talks with several conferences that are looking into the possibility of virtual events because of the coronavirus epidemic that has affected several countries, Mangal said. The company claims that its technology will help the customers receive a ten times increase in community engagement.
